Halo Legacy

I looked up at the Oracle, bowing my head in respect.

"An honor to meet with you again, Oracle..."

I pondered the Oracle's problem for a moment, my eyes drifting towards one of the small outpost-like structures. A smile curved on my face.

"Oracle? What if you were use one of the terminals in one of the smaller structures? You could use it to advance your knowledge of this world."

Jackson

"Looks like our signals are being jammed, we might be heading into a dark zone..."Nicole looked through her datapad, hoping to find a signal.

"Lieutenant, I'm getting a signal," I looked to the side and replied, "patch me through."

"This is Spartan-0026 broadcasting on all open UNSC channels, requesting... Uh... Evac? No, Um... I need someone to- Uh... You know what, screw it. Somebody come pick me up and show where the fights at All right!?"

"Spartan-0026, stay at your position, we'll be swinging you by on a damage Phantom."

We turned to the left, about half a klick away from James. The phantom limped its way over, lowering to pick up James, I was the first to greet him.

"I remember you during training, read all your Army files and everything," I crunched on my cigar a little and then looked back at James, "we're a team alright, that Lone Wolf crap stays behind for this mission Roger? Now I'm sure you remember Nicole and Charlie, we've picked up a few of those ONI spartans and an ODST," I motioned my hand to them.

Vrenn

The monitor floated towards me, looking almost gleeful, "Oracle, if you will..." My motion made a swift motion towards the structure, as it picked up it's place. Me and my squad picked our pace as well to guard the Oracle from anything suspicious as the others stealthed their way through the jungle.

Regerus

There was a presentably looking cage of glass, near the back of the Jackal's cargo. Picking it up, I handed it to one of my bodyguards, "take care of this prize we attained, we'll bring it back to my ship."

We started heading out before I turned to Titanus, "we'll bring this back and unveil the secrets of the ancient ones, I'm am to eager to wait any longer, let us make our way."

Matt smirked under his helmet. "Those ONI Spartans are gonna be mighty useful in this battle... soon as we get a line through to our ship for support." He looked down at Serina.
"There's nothing we can do for him now trooper, we'll see that he gets a proper burial when this is all over but right now we need your head in the game... Jackson's right, we're gonna need all the men... or woman in this case." He chuckled, checking his DMR.

Serina nodded slowly, standing slowly and walking to the edge of the Phantom, looking out into the distance.
"Battles getting pretty bad." She said quietly

James smirked at Jackson under his helmet.

"Will do..." James leaned in close. "...Sir."

He walked around the Phantom, looking at all of the Spartans and troopers. He noticed the one in the corner of the Phantom, he walked up and noticed he was dead. He looked back at everyone.

"What's with the KIA here?" He crouched down and picked up the soldier's helmet, examining it.

"My squads captain." She said coldly, looking out into the distance "Died on arrival... on impact would be more accurate, but that's nothing for you to worry about is it Spartan?" She turned to face him, her face now visible through her visor.

Matt's heart skipped a beat when he saw her face... it was Serina, his sister... the same sister he hasn't seen since before Reach fell. He knew bringing anything up would distract them even more from the battle to come so he stayed silent for the moment.

James stood up and walked towards the ODST, staring down at her.

"Then I guess it's just a shame, he died without finding his bullet..." He tossed the helmet to her. "I'm sure your captain was a good enough guy, he should've left his mark a little better in this fight..."

He looked towards Matt. Something seemed off about the Spartan. "Now I remember you. You were there with the drones back on earth, I saved one of your gals..."

She glared at him as he turned to one of the other Spartans for a few seconds before looking down at Cap's helmet.
Walking over to his body, she put it on him, glancing back over at the Spartan they'd just picked up.

Matt smirked under his visor. "Small world isn't it... glad to see your keeping yourself busy. She's doing fine, Joanna... itchin to get back into the fight."

"Hmm? Ah, that would be ideal!" replied the moniter, cheerful as ever. "Could you perhaps direct me to one of these smaller structures?"

Soren 'Kairom

I nodded respectfully to the Moniter.

"It would be my honor, Oracle..." I motioned for the others to follow as I leapt into the dense jungle.

I activated my energy dagger, slicing through the thick vines and trees as we progressed. I heard the Oracle floating by, and the multiple Covenant soldiers that followed. The structure was small, but had a tall tower that seemed to contain a large amout of energy inside, the low humming could he heard from here.

I stopped at the door, my fingers feeling the locked door. I turned back to everyone, shaking my head slowly. "Locked... We should get some heavy demo-"

I paused as the Oracle floated by. I opened my mouth to say something when the structure seemed to light up suddenly, as if responding to the Moniter's presence. I watched as the doors opened, revealing the breath-taking interior. I stepped inside, my eyes wide as I looked at the Forerunners' ancient symbolds and designs on the walls.



James-0026

James glanced back at the ODST, chuckling a little to himself as he watched her put on the helmet. He turned back to Matt.

"Aren't we all? I'm going to go on a rampage if I don't squeeze the life out of something big and ugly soon..." He pointed to the ODST. "What's with the strangler? When're we dropping her off?"

"The way I see it, she's already been dropped off... she's staying with my team, I don't leave anyone behind... her record says she's more useful to us ONI Spartans anyways."

James looked at him curiously.

"Yeah, but we're going knee deep into enemy lines aren't we? You really want to put a trooper in there? She won't last 5 minutes..."

"Never said she was going with us now did I... she's a sniper, excellent long range specialist. She'll be providing long range cover for us."
He looked over at her.
"Sound like a plan trooper?"
She nodded. "Just give me something to shoot chief."

"Nice... So you just gave her the second most dangerous job anyone could get..."

James chuckled to himself and glanced back at the trooper. "Whatever then, but when some Elite sneaks up from behind and drives a dagger through her back for the painful kill... Make sure she turns her radio off so the rest of us don't have to listen..."

"Never said she'd be alone either... one of my own will be with her."
He glanced over at Jennifer. She nodded.
"There... now we all get to do our jobs."

"That's alot of effort going into one trooper, she must be worth alot for something... So, care to enlighten us all on this master plan you seem to have? So everyone will atleast know their jobs?"

"I figure, you do what you do best... not entirely sure what that is but I'm sure I'll find out. Us mysterious ONI types will be heading for the command center most likely. Not entirely sure what Jackson has planned for his team."

"Well since you two seem to get along so well, then James you go with Matt; we're" I said pointing to Nicole and Charlie, "have some business, we have to meet up with Richard."

The phantom slowed down as we set down in an outpost clsoe to the battle, "we're going to meet up again soon, keep in radio contact."

"Alright Phoenix team, go silent and set up a perimeter, James.... you and Serina are with me. On the other side of that hill our people are getting hit hard and we're providing long range support... time to see if your as good as your file says you are trooper."
Jason, Jennifer and Frank set up a perimeter near the hill as Matt pulled the Stanchion rifle off his back and led James and Serina up the hill.

Greeted by a massive battlefield when the reached the top, Serina got down on her stomach, checked her scope and started scanning the battlefield as Matt prepped the Stanchion.
"Time to see what this thing can do... you ever see the Stanchion in action James?"

James stared out at the open battlefield, grinning wickedly under his helmet. "Well it's about damn time..."

He unslung his Assault Rifle and quickly popped in a magazine. Suddenly he noticed Matt was talking to him, and he glanced back at him, noticing the large, slick looking rifle.

"The what?"

Matt smirked. "The M99 Special Applications Rifle, also known as the Stanchion or more simply... the gauss rifle... this baby uses a .21 calibre round and the latest gauss propulsion technology to make a real big mess of anyone who happens to be on the wrong end of it. Still technically a prototype, us ONI types get to have fun with all the cool toys."
He chuckled, kneeling down beside Serina and looking down the scope.
"Only thing you gotta worry about is the splash damage... now... who wants some?"

"Wraith... you see it?" Serina spoke calmly as she looked down the scope of her rifle.
Matt nodded. "Now you see it..." He fired two shots off in quick succession, both hitting the Wraith in its backside and tearing through it, exploding in a burst of light and plasma. "...Now you don't."
The splash damage from the explosion took out four grunts who were standing beside the tank and severely injuring two Elites.

Serina quickly took care of the elites with two quick head shots.

"Now, allow me to access this terminal..." the moniter said, floting towards a collection of holograms. It accessed them utilizing a small beam of what appeared to be electricity.

"Success!" it exclaimed, cheerfully.

"Oracle, what lies within this facility?" I asked.

"Let me see... Ah, there's several advanced superconductive restraining loops, designed to keep siesmic activity to a minimum! There's also a transmitter terminal deeper in the facility, my, this is a true wealth of information! Then there's..."

The Oracle's voice trailed off.

"What is it, Oracle?" Vera asked.

"Oh my..."

Chris-107:

"Some of you just don't know when the war is over," I muttered, pulling the knife out of the Elite's side. "Don't you bastards know your government's all buddy-buddy with us now?"

I slipped the knife into a sheath on my leg, and moved past the bodies of several Grunts, their bioluminscent blood giving the room an eerie glow.

Robert X04

Both Panther and Viper team were dropped right into the battle without so much as a good luck, and with no way to contact either the Vermilion or the Mail Man, they were on there own.
Robert leaned out of cover, firing blindly at a group grunts.
"Anything?"
Leon tapped his helmet, shaking his head slightly. "Nothing at all... they must be using something to jam our communications. I can't even get anyone on the local comm channel."
The two dove from the wall they were using as cover, a mortar from a nearby Wraith destroying it.
"Where the hell is Myles? We got a Wraith!"
"Calm down! I'm a little busy at the moment!" Myles was fighting an Elite hand to hand, exchanging blows with it.

Robert and Leon glanced over at the Wraith just as it exploded, but it wasn't the Wraith that caught there attention it was what destroyed.
"Looks like we ain't alone, that was the Stanchion that took down that Wraith."

I heard gunfire over the next hill. Human gunfire. I broke into a run, cresting the hill in a few moments. I was greeted with the sight of fellow Spartans.

"Hey, did you miss me?" I asked, recongnizing them from the Drone extermination mission. I fired a volley of assault rifle bullets into a nearby Grunt, who had been preparing to fire a fuel rod into their group.
