Ratchet & Clank

The story began on a backwater planet in the Solana galaxy, known as Veldin. Ratchet, was seen working on a space ship. Ratchet then checked what else needed to be done to complete his ship from "HelpDesk". A robotic ignition system was needed. Meanwhile at a robot manufacturing plant elsewhere in the galaxy, the computer instead of creating a Sentry-bot accidently created Clank, a tiny robot who discovered that his creator, Chairman Drek, planned to create a new planet by destroying other planets in the galaxy. He was spotted as he fled the planet and was shot down over Veldin. Ratchet struck a deal with Clank. If Clank would start his ship, he would agree to help Clank locate Captain Qwark to save the galaxy from Drek. The two began an adventure. They explored planets which Drek attacked such as Novalis and Eudora before meeting Captain Qwark on Rilgar. Captain Qwark tricked them into doing a deathcourse on Umbris. They eventually finished the deathcourse only to discover Captain Qwark was working for Drek. Captain Qwark then left, forcing Ratchet and Clank to defeat a Blargian Snagglebeast. The two then flew to save Batalia but Ratchet vowed to 'pay him back' while Clank tried to convince him that Drek was the bigger issue. Ratchet finally came to his senses with he discovered Drek was planing to destroy an entire planet with the PlanetBuster Maximus which Ratchet later destroyed. They then went to Drek's Gemlik Moonbase. Ratchet finally got his revenge when Drek made Qwark ambush Ratchet and Clank, but Ratchet destroyed Qwark's ship forcing him to crashland to planet Oltanis. The two went on to save the galaxy from Drek by destroying him, his Deplanetizer, and his newly constructed planet. The two became instant celebrities and were featured on many magazine covers and television show. They settled on Veldin to wait for their next adventure.

Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando

After defeating Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek, Ratchet and Clank became galactic celebrities. However, things started cooling down after a while. Nearly a year after their previous escapade they appeared in an interview for Behind the Hero, and were teleported to the Bogon Galaxy by the founder and CEO of Megacorp (a company that made everything from household appliances to heavy weaponry), a man by the name of Abercrombie Fizzwidget (who had a tendency to use malapropisms and often made-up words). It appeared that a masked "dupliferous criminal mastermind" had stolen a valuable experiment: a cute blue fuzzball.

Clank was reluctant to partake in another adventure, so Ratchet went solo while infiltrating the thief's ship. The Thief then hired Thugs-4-Less (their motto was "If it ain't broke, we'll break it") for protection. The dastardly thief also kidnapped Clank. After Ratchet came to Clank's rescue, Clank had no choice but to go along with Ratchet.

Ratchet confronted the thief on planet Siberius, defeating the thief, reclaiming the experiment, and returned it to Mr. Fizzwidget. After, Mr. Fizzwidget accidentally ejected the duo from his ship and the thief approached demanding the experiment, but had not realised that Ratchet did not have it. When the thief fell off of her ship, her mask came off, which revealed that she was Angela Cross. Angela warned Ratchet that the experiment would ultimately doom the galaxy.

On planet Dobbo, Ratchet and Clank discovered that Angela's claims were true, and tried to persuade Fizzwidget to destroy the experiment, but their efforts were in vain. The duo then stumbled across an ad for the "Protopet" (the experiment), which was being prepared for mass release. At that point, it was revealed that Thugs-4-Less terminated their contract with Angela and had been hired by Megacorp to "protect" Mr. Fizzwidget.

On planet Boldan, Ratchet and Clank were captured for "attempting to bump off" Mr. Fizzwidget. They were sent to a prison on planet Aranos. After being freed by one of Clank's admirers (a female Infobot), they headed to Thugs-4-Less HQ to free Angela, who was also captured by the thugs. The duo vanquished the thug leader and freed Angela. Eventually, the three of them went to Megacorp HQ in order to the Protopet menace once and for all.

After they went there, the female Infobot revealed that Captain Qwark (the disgraced superhero from Ratchet & Clank) created the Protopets to restore his reputation. Fizzwidget appeared, and in a surprising plot twist, he was actually Qwark in disguise. He took Angela's Helix-O-Morph (a gadget that would repair the fatal flaw in the Protopet) and zapped the original Protopet. However the action misfired and the original Protopet mutated into a gigantic monster. When Ratchet finally defeated the Protopet mutation, Clank discovered that the batteries were in backwards in the Helix-o-Morph. Angela corrected this also by amplifying the device with Megacorp's TV transponders and zapped the original, ending the threat once and for all. The real Fizzwidget then appeared. It turned out he had been tied up in a closet this whole time, and he spoke perfect English as well, with no malapropisms or made-up words.

Everyone else lived happily, except Qwark. He got a job in the Megacorp Testing Facility, acting as a test dummy for gadgets like the Crotchitizer, which he ended up taking a liking to as referred to in Up Your Arsenal.

Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal

While channel surfing past Clank's new TV show, "Secret Agent Clank", Ratchet stumbled across a news report about his home planet, Veldin, being under attack by an army of Tyhrranoids. They were believed to be working for a cyborg by the name of Dr. Nefarious. After racing to Veldin and being appointed as the new sergeant for the Galactic Rangers, they were contacted by the President and asked to find the only man who had ever fought Nefarious and lived, who was believed to be living on planet Florana as the Florana tree beast. After watching an episode of "Nature's Mysteries" about this creature, they flew to the Nabla Forest on Florana where it made them cross the Path of Death. Afterwards, they learnt that the Florana Tree beast was Captain Qwark, who apparently lost his memory while working to save the Florana Jungle's fauna. He now believed himself to be a monkey. After Qwark and his companion, Skrunch (a one-eyed monkey) were led to the ship, Sasha Phyronix, captain of the Starship Phoenix, was ordered to assist Ratchet and Clank.

Aboard the starship, they left Captain Qwark in his new quarters. After leaving Qwark, they found Sasha listening to a transmission from the president on planet Marcadia, who turned out to be her father. Nefarious interrupted the transmission and declared war on all organic life forms, or "Squishies" as he called them. Ratchet and Clank then ventured out to Marcadia's capital to assist the Galactic rangers and the president. After assisting the president, Ratchet and Clank were sent to the Laser Facility where they met Big Al; he joined the crew of the Phoenix and gave the heroes the Captain Qwark Vid-Comic issue 1. When Ratchet and Clank played this game on the Phoenix, Qwark's memory was restored. While Captain Qwark went through rehabilitation, Ratchet and Clank were sent to Annihilation Nation to claim the Tyhrraguise (a device which concealed the wearer as a Tyhrranoid) as a prize. Afterwards, they were informed that the president had placed the war effort under Qwark's command.

The "Q-Force" (consisting of Big Al, Helga, Skid McMarx, Ratchet, Clank, Qwark, and Sasha) were assigned a new mission to infiltrate Nefarious' base on Planet Aquatos to acquire as much information on Nefarious' plans as possible. They discovered that Dr. Nefarious was Clank's biggest fan, and Clank found and downloaded an encrypted star-map to the Tyhrranoids' home planet and base, Tyhrranosis. Nefarious was shocked to see that his base has been infiltrated, and outraged to find that Qwark was behind it. After Al decrypted the starmap, the group (mainly Ratchet and Clank) infiltrated the base on Tyhrranosis and destroyed it. Dr. Nefarious then sent the Q-Force a transmission, still shocked that they actually infiltrated his base. Al traced the transmission to planet Daxx.

When Ratchet landed, he was led by Al to a computer terminal that contained data on Nefarious' new secret weapon called the Biobliterator. Clank also found that a transport ship had just left for the Obani Gemini moons the day before. Ratchet, Clank, and Skid made their way through the first two moons, only to find the third was protected by a "Omega Class Disintegration Shield". Ratchet then got an urgent call from the Galactic Rangers who needed his help on Blackwater City against the Tyhrranoids. Ratchet left to help them, but Skid decided to stay and work on the force field. Ratchet and Clank arrived on planet Rilgar and helped the Galactic rangers defend their base. The pair soon discovered that they needed to find Courtney Gears, a pop-star singer who they believed was working with Nefarious. Ratchet and Clank returned to Annihilation Nation to enter the "Meet Courtney" challenge. When they beat the challenge, Courtney was surprised to see Clank. When Clank asked her where Nefarious was, she said she would tell him if he got her a part on Secret Agent Clank. He accepted, and when he asked for information on Nefarious, she knocked him out and brought Clank to Nefarious. Nefarious gave Clank two choices: to either join him and rule a galaxy of robots, or to die with the "Squishies" becoming a traitor to his own kind. Back at Clank's trailer, Ratchet was ambushed by the Tyhrranoids. Fighting his way back to the ship, he found Clank, who was acting very strange. When Ratchet asked him about the whereabouts of Nefarious, Clank said he was on a star cruiser called the Leviathan.

The two landed on Obani Draco, the third moon, where Skid was able to bring the shield down. As it turned out, it was Courtney's hideout. The two discovered the Biobliterator there, a machine that changed organic life forms into brainwashed robots bent on destroying the "Squishies". After that, they confronted and defeated Courtney Gears. Upon finishing her off, they received a transmission from Sasha, who tracked the Leviathan to the Zeldrin Starport. They left Skid who had been transformed into a robot by the Bio-Bliterator as a test subject and headed for the starport to meet up with Qwark.

The Q-Force reached the Leviathan and fought their way through hordes of enemies until they found Nefarious waiting. It turned out that it was a trap, as he activated the self-destruct system and warped out of there. All of the Q-Force returned to the Phoenix, except for Qwark, who stayed behind, saying he thought he saw something impotant. Ratchet and Clank flew off just as the Leviathan exploded, still debating whether to leave Qwark behind.

After a funeral for Qwark on the Phoenix, Ratchet flew to the city of Metropolis, which was under attack by Tyhrranoids. During the battle, Nefarious used the Biobliterator to turn helpless citizens and Tyhrranoid invaders alike into robots. Ratchet battled his way to a hovering train, where it was revealed that the real Clank had been the prisoner of Doctor Nefarious, ever since an evil copy known as Klunk replaced Clank and met with Ratchet at Holostar Studios. After defeating Klunk, Ratchet and Clank were reunited and flew to the planet Zeldrin to investigate the wreckage of the Leviathan, hoping to find what Qwark was looking for.

On Zeldrin, they discovered an encrypted data disc (The Master Plan), and a recording that revealed that Qwark was alive when the cruiser went down. They resolved not to tell the crew that Qwark was alive until they found out why he did not report to the Phoenix. After playing a video game that contained information as to the whereabouts of Qwark's hideout, they flew to the Thrann Asteroid Belt and battled past security robots and hostile Megacorp Lawn Ninjas until they found Captain Qwark himself, who had abandoned his fight against Nefarious in favor of the comfort and safety of his hideout. Ratchet left in disgust, but Clank made one last appeal to Qwark, stating that he had an opportunity to "become the hero you have always wanted to be", when Qwark was looking over at his costume with a kind of heroic glow in his eyes.

When they returned to their ship, they received a garbled transmission from Sasha, who told them that the Phoenix was under attack. Ratchet helped the Galactic Rangers regain control of the ship and freed the captured Q-Force members. Al told Ratchet that he had finally cracked the encryption on the data disc, which contained a complete copy of Nefarious' battle plans. Ratchet had to fly to the planet Koros to destroy the Biobliterator before it was unleashed on his beloved home, Veldin.

Ratchet and Clank reached Koros, and after battling hordes of Nefarious' troops, Clank used the Ion Cannon there to destroy the Biobliterator. However, Sasha soon reported that a second Biobliterator was housed at a command center on planet Mylon, guarded by an entire army of robot Tyhrranoids. Ratchet and Clank flew to Mylon, fought through the Command Center, and reached the Biobliterator, just in time for Dr. Nefarious and his butler Lawrence to escape. Luckily, a dropship arrived for Ratchet and Clank to pursue Nefarious to his launch site.

At the launch site, Ratchet and Clank battled Dr. Nefarious once and for all. After a short while, he fell down and begged for mercy, fooling Ratchet into a false sense of victory before running away. Ratchet chased after Nefarious, and with the help of the Galactic Rangers, defeated him. Nefarious and Lawrence then warped into the Biobliterator, which transformed into a giant robot. Ratchet and Clank looked utterly doomed - when Captain Qwark flew in to fight alongside them. Ratchet and Captain Qwark engaged in aerial combat against Nefarious and the Biobliterator, and destroyed it. The Biobliterator self-destructed, and Nefarious and Lawrence were warped away to an unknown location.

The ending was cut off to the premiere of the latest Secret Agent Clank holofilm, where Clank and Skrunch faced off against Maximillian's forces on a snowy world. The premiere was a huge success, and Ratchet even got a kiss on the cheek from Sasha.

The last scene was of Dr. Nefarious and Lawrence, sitting on an isolated asteroid, out of range to teleport to escape for the next several thousand years. Lawrence suggested some music to help pass the time, but Nefarious only screamed "Laawwwwrreeencee!!!!!" in anger.

Ratchet: Deadlocked

Heroes from all over the galaxy have been kidnapped, and some of them were turning up dead. The captured heroes have been forced to, regardless of whether they wanted to or not, compete on the leading Holo-Vision program in the criminal Shadow Sector of the Solana galaxy: DreadZone, the brainchild of the media magnate Gleeman Vox, which was watched by trillions of sentient beings throughout the sector. It featured illegal, uncensored, gladiatorial combat to the death, with the former hero Ace Hardlight as its uncontested and undefeated champion. Regardless of whether he liked it or not, Ratchet was forced into becoming the newest contestant on DreadZone. Ratchet, to everyone's surprise was eventually able to defeat every exterminator, including Ace Hardlight. Ratchet became the grand champion of DreadZone. Gleeman Vox offered Ratchet a huge deal to make Ratchet head of the Exterminators and to make Ratchet-related products. Ratchet turned it down. Then later, Clank and Al reprogramed the DreadZone shuttle to take Ratchet to the control level. Ratchet destroyed the containment fields, freed all the heroes and defeated Gleeman Vox himself. Vox then set the station to self-destruct, as part of a plan to have Ratchet and Vox to die together on live Holo-Vision, giving Vox the best ratings he had ever had, but at the last second, Clank brought a ship that rescued Ratchet. Ratchet first rescued Slugha and left Vox to die alone, when the DreadZone station blew up with only Vox left in it.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

At the start of the game, Ratchet and Clank were on planet Kerwan to try out one of Ratchet's new vehicles, but then Clank received a distress call from Captain Qwark, who was at the Planetary Defense Center. Before Ratchet and Clank got there, Metropolis was suddenly attacked by a race of aliens called the Drophyds. They worked for Emperor Percival Tachyon, the last of the Cragmites, and the most evil threat in the universe. The Cragmite Emperor was hunting down Ratchet who was revealed to be the last Lombax in the known universe and the greatest threat to Tachyon's Empire. Tachyon tried to make a deal with Ratchet that if he got to kill Ratchet and destroy Clank he left Metropolis alone. They tricked Tachyon and fled into his warship. Having escaped from Kerwan in an imperial warship, Ratchet & Clank were put to sleep while they travelled to the Polaris galaxy.

They crash-landed on planet Cobalia in the Polaris galaxy. Clank had a vision where he was flying in Stratus City and the Zoni were surrounding him saying, "His past is inside." The vision ended when Ratchet woke him up. The duo made their way to a spaceport, where they met the Smuggler, who told them that he took them off of Cobalia if they got a Gelatonium Plant working again and so he gave the Gelanator to them to do the job. Ratchet and Clank got the plant running again and the Smuggler gave the ride he promised but only took them as far as Strarus City on planet Kortog.

The Smuggler ejected Ratchet and Clank onto the surface of Startus City, because a lifeform scan on his ship detected the Lombax. After fighting through the city, the Zoni upgraded Clank with the Robo-Wings, when Ratchet and Clank flew to the Hall of Knowledge with the Zoni's guidance. There they learned that Fastoon was a Lombax planet. They then fled in an escape pod to the planet before reinforcements arrived.

The two landed on the devastated Lombax home world. Ratchet wondered where all the Lombaxes were and Clank told him that the planet was deserted years ago. They found an old ship named Aphelion, where they found five Lombax Flight Components scattered around the area. Clank made his way through a Raritanium mine with the help of the Zoni, and obtained a sixth one. They then repaired Aphelion, who told them what happened on Fastoon. Aphelion played a holo-vite that Ratchet received, which told him about the Imperial Fight Festival on planet Mukow.

They soon found that Qwark had sworn loyalty to Tachyon after fighting in a tournament on Mukow. Qwark was given an infobot as a prize. The infobot revealed that Tachyon was plotting to search the entire Polaris Galaxy to find the Lombax Secret. Tachyon thought the secret was hidden in the Apogee Space Station in the Nundac Asteroid Ring.

Heading to the Nundac Asteroid Ring, they found the Smuggler who gave them the launch code to a pod that would take them to the Apogee Space Station if they gave him three Leviathan Souls. Ratchet and Clank killed the Basilisk Leviathans, collected the souls and gave it to the Smuggler, who gave them the code. Ratchet and Clank rode the pod to the station's Maintenance Hub, traversed it and rode the elevator to the intern of the station. There they fought through the security system and almost made it until the final door locked. The Zoni upgraded Clank with the Geo-Laser and they then cut the wall open. Cronk and Zephyr tried to attack Ratchet, but ended up running into each other. Talwyn then appeared and threatened to send Ratchet the airlock. Zephyr then said, "Put that Lombax in his place!" This made Talwyn realize that Ratchet was a Lombax and she told Cronk and Zephyr to lower their weapons. Talwyn then told Ratchet of Max Apogee and how space pirates raided the station and stole a pyramid-shaped artifact. Ratchet recalled the Smuggler mentioning pirates on planet Ardolis, so they flew to the Pirate Base located on Ardolis.

Ratchet and Clank made their way to the treasure room and recovered the artifact, but saw Captain Slag and Rusty Pete flying to the room on a sail barge, so they hid behind a treasure chest. Slag's potent sense of smell told him that there was a Lombax in the room. Talwyn then appeared and threw a smoke bomb, when Ratchet and Clank dropped down a hole and made their way to the Skull Radio Tower. Outside the tower, they met up with Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr. Talwyn couldn't make the artifact work, so Ratchet asked her if she needed help, when she then gave it to Ratchet. The artifact hovered over his hands and when he pressed one of the sides, a 3D map of a planet appeared, which Talwyn recognized as Rykan V. They then flew to the planet, but first fought through a fleet of ships in the Rakar Star Cluster.

Ratchet, Clank, Cronk and Zephyr performed a HALO jump and fought through Tachyon's forces to fight to a spaceport, where they separated. On the spaceport, Ratchet and Clank bought a Gyro-Cycle from the Smuggler, who said he got it from a Lombax who modified it with a Terrathruster. They then made their way to a room with the Gyro-cycle, where they met up with Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr. Ratchet then unlocked the door to the room, which was filled with nothing useful, except an ancient holo-vid projector, which revealed to them that the Lombax Secret was a helmet called the Dimensionator and told them to report to the testing facility on planet Sargasso for test subjects.

They then travelled to planet Sargasso, where they tried to find a testing facility once run by the Center for Advanced Lombax Research as stated in a HoloVid. The Smuggler pointed out a incapacitated Robo-Wings pad and offered to give them a Decrypter to fix it for three leviathan souls. After killing three Grunthors, they headed back to the Smuggler and traded. Ratchet then successfully got the pad working with the Decrypter and the duo flew off towards the facility with the Zoni's guidance. Once at the testing facility, Ratchet and Clank encountered the Plumber once again. The Plumber then said that no possible weapon could wipe out an entire species, so he gave them a 3 ¾ Centicubit Hexagonal Washer, and then left by flushing himself down a large toilet. Clank was doubtful whether the Cragmites were vaporized at all. Qwark then contacted the heroes on their way back to Aphelion and said he may have found a clue.

After battling through another tournament on Mukow, Qwark gave them a holo-vid displaying IRIS, the largest supercomputer in the Polaris galaxy, which Ratchet then believed to know where the Dimensionator was. After downloading the coordinates to IRIS's location, Clank then went inside the computer to repair it. The Zoni appeared yet again and Clank had a vision of Talwyn being locked away in Zordoom Prison. Ratchet then learned about Tachyon's origins. He was frozen in an egg and found by Lombax Trillium miners on the Kreeli Comet who then raised him on Fastoon. However, once he learned of his Cragmite heritage and origins, he waged war against the Lombaxes. Ratchet then had an argument with Clank regarding the Zoni.

The duo then travelled to Zordoom and freed Talwyn from her cell, when they began to split up. Once Ratchet and Clank got back to Aphelion, Talwyn contacted them and said she found Cronk and Zephyr in the scrap compressor. They then flew towards planet Jasindu, but first fought through Slag's fleet in the Verdigris Black Hole.

Ratchet and Clank landed on Jasindu where the pirates were at war with the Kerchu. They made their way to a grind rail, traversed it while a large robot controlled by Kerchu tried to kill them, and destroyed the robot in an arena. An elevator built into the arena ascended with the Dimensionator. Captain Slag and his pirate fleet then arrived and took the Dimensionator and threatened to kill Ratchet and destroy Clank if they followed him. But Aphelion tracked them to Slag's Fleet in Ublik Passage.

The heroes willfully followed them to their fleet hidden in the Ublik Passage and defeated Captain Slag. Ratchet was then given the "honor" of becoming the new Captain of the space pirates by Rusty Pete. Ratchet refused and said he just wanted the Dimensionator. Qwark then popped out of a pirate crate, took the Dimensionator and vowed to throw it into a black hole. He then flew away in a pod. Ratchet asked Rusty Pete where the pod would fly, and he answered that it landed on planet Reepor, the Cragmite home world. Rusty Pete considered Ratchet the captain.

Ratchet, Clank, Cronk and Zephyr performed a HALO jump and fought Tachyon's forces. Cronk and Zephyr then took control of two large cannons, while Ratchet, Clank and Talwyn tried to find a way inside the stronghold. They then split up, when Ratchet and Clank made their way to a raised platform and found Tachyon wearing the Dimensionator while he had Qwark under the clutches of a leg from his walking throne. Tachyon summoned the Cragmites from exile. Ratchet was knocked unconscious and he was then separated from Clank. Clank found his way back to Aphelion with the help of the Zoni. They showed him another vision of Ratchet standing in front of a portal on Fastoon before a muffled scream was heard. Ratchet then traversed his way back to Aphelion and found Talwyn and Zephyr repairing a broken Cronk. Ratchet was devastated when he thought that Clank had perished. Clank then flew down with the Robo-Wings and the two of them were reunited. Aphelion said that her sensors had picked up a Cragmite armada rapidly approaching Meridian City on planet Igliak. Talwyn told Ratchet that Meridian City was the capital of the Polaris Galaxy and that they needed to hurry while she and Zephyr repaired Cronk.

Ratchet and Clank then travelled to Meridian City, fought off Tachyon's forces, Gyro-cycled through the Sector-3 Construction Zone, flew through a tunnel and found Qwark cowering in a closet at the end point. Clank then believed that Tachyon may be headed for Fastoon, based off his vision from the Zoni. Ratchet then willingly agreed to go there, finally seeming to believe Clank about the Zoni.

Ratchet, Clank, Cronk and Zephyr performed another HALO jump and destroyed five Magna Cannons so Talwyn could land. Once they fought through Tachyon's Cragmite army on Fastoon, Ratchet, Clank, Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr arrived in the Court of Azimuth, an old Lombax citadel. Tachyon then revealed a large amount of information about Ratchet. The Lombaxes took shelter behind the walls and used the Dimensionator to flee to another dimension after Tachyon invaded Fastoon. Only two Lombaxes stayed behind, the keeper of the Dimensionator and his infant son (who Ratchet realises was himself). Ratchet's father was revealed to have been killed by Tachyon but not before sending Ratchet to Veldin, which explained how Ratchet came to be on the planet. Tachyon then opened a portal to the Lombaxes' dimension and gave Ratchet the chance to join them. Ratchet however realised that no one would be safe as long as Tachyon had the Dimensionator, so he vowed to destroy the device. Ratchet and Clank then battled Tachyon with some assisting gunfire from Talwyn, Cronk, and Zephyr. After they got Tachyon to about ¾ of health, the Dimensionator opened up a portal which sucked Tachyon in. Clank admitted to Ratchet that wormhole devices were dangerous. Ratchet said that it was not like a holo-film, when Tachyon grabbed Ratchet's hand with a leg from his throne and took them with him. They ended up on a large asteroid. Tachyon then was defeated and he declared that only he knew Ratchet's real name, his father, and his purpose and was then sucked into a black hole. Ratchet and Clank then landed on an asteroid where they defeated Tachyon. After the battle, the whole place started collapsing into a black hole. Ratchet tried to use the dimensionator but noticed that the Primary Reflux Coil for the device was missing. Clank then held up the 3 ¾ Centicubit Hexagonal Washer the Plumber gave them on Sargasso which Ratchet put in the Dimensionator. Ratchet and Clank then used the Dimensionator to "find home". Ratchet then awoke surrounded by Clank, Talwyn and Cronk and Zephyr.

Back on Apogee Space Station, Rusty Pete tried to teach Qwark how to become a pirate, and Cronk and Zephyr pretend to redo the battle between Ratchet and Tachyon. Ratchet wondered if Tachyon told the truth about his purpose and father. Clank told Ratchet that Tachyon was telling the truth and that Ratchet had filled his purpose by vanquishing Tachyon. The Zoni appeared once more, visible to everyone. They then trapped Clank in a psychic field and took him through into a dimensional portal only to tell him who he was and who he became. Ratchet tried to stop the Zoni, but the portal ejected him to the ground. The Zoni then mind-melded Clank and he "willingly" went with them. The game ended with Ratchet staring upwards at where Clank was taken, speechless.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty

The story of Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty is focused on Ratchet searching for Clank and continues one year after the story from Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Ratchet and Talwyn flew up to a floating pirate base on planet Merdegraw with the Aphelion and got on it. There they started searching for Captain Darkwater, who was an expert on Zoni culture, only to encounter Rusty Pete wandering while holding the head of Captain Slag. This attracted the attention of some pirates and Sprocket, a Rogue. Sprocket shot Ratchet out of a cannon only to have him land on an adjacent pirate ship. Ratchet and Talwyn fought through the fleet and Ratchet catapulted himself to another ship.

They fought some more enemies and Ratchet catapulted himself to another ship but ended up flying into a cannon. Talwyn was also thrown into the same cannon. Sprocket commanded the pirates to blast them towards Morrow Caverns so Pythors could devour them. Rusty Pete pretended to be Captain Slag by putting his head on and successfully attempted to fool the pirates. He commanded Sprocket to shoot Ratchet and Talwyn towards Hoolefar Island, where they 'would find exactly what they were looking for'. Sprocket mercilessly agreed and the pirates blasted Ratchet and Talwyn towards the island. Ratchet woke up on the shore of Hoolefar Island and saw Clank trapped in an energy field. Clank said something then disappeared. Ratchet and Talwyn traversed the wilderness and Ratchet zip lined toward the beach, where they were greeted by Barnabus Worley, the Mayor of Hoolefar Island. Mayor Worley told them the supply beacon didn't work so they could't send out messages. Ratchet fixed the five wind turbines, but the beacon operator told him that someone uncoupled the power couplings and that they needed a standard GrummelNet VersaBolt to reconnect the couplings. Ratchet bought one from the Smuggler for 10,000 bolts.

The operator fixed the bolt in and Ratchet cranked it. The couplings worked and a bridge opened to a Grav-ramp with a trapeze that led to the top of the beacon. Ratchet traversed it and cranked one final VersaBolt and powered the beacon. The Mayor showed Ratchet the Obsidian Eye, the most powerful lorernthzian telescope, but it didn't not work as the Obsidian Eye's power source; the Fulcrum Star was guarded by Darkwater's body in his ship. Ratchet decided to find it. Rusty Pete arrived at the island and told them of Darkwater's ship and brought them to Morrow Caverns where it was hidden. Talwyn accidentally got trapped behind a door. As soon as Ratchet boarded the ship, he found Darkwater's dismembered head. He picked it up and noticed a map that fell out which he also picked up. Rusty Pete told Ratchet that he would check for booby traps, so he sneaked over to Darkwater's body and suddenly stuck the head of Captain Slag on Darkwater's body. Slag now possessed the body, but so did Darkwater's cursed spirit. Ratchet freed Talwyn from a cave and ran from Morrow Caverns, with Slag/Darkwater sending re-animated pirates after them. They went to Hoolefar Island on a sail barge, just as Slag/Darkwater attacked and they defended the island from him.

They then travelled to the Smuggler to decipher the map. It was the map to Darkwater Cove, an island where Darkwater hid his treasure. Ratchet proved himself as Darkwater to the many robotic security bots and they went in to the treasure room. But as Ratchet ran to the star, a hole opened up and he fell down into the Lythoin Caves. Slag/Darkwater appeared and took Talwyn as a prisoner. Ratchet escaped from the caves and flew with the Smuggler to Slag/Darkwater's fleet in Azorean Sea, where he freed Talwyn and they confronted Slag/Darkwater. They defeated him, which broke the curse that brought the pirates back to life. Slag fell into the sea and Rusty Pete dropped the Fulcrum Star and jumped in after him. Ratchet grabbed the Star and headed back to Hoolefar Island and powered up the Obsidian Eye. He saw Clank surrounded by numerous Zoni as he awoke for a brief moment and began to talk gibberish. The Zoni told Clank "The Doctor" was coming. A door opened and a figure descended down the stairs. He slipped on a duster, fell down and gathered himself up, revealing himself to be Dr. Nefarious, shouting for his butler, Lawrence. The coordinates led Ratchet to the Breegus Nebula and the game concluded with Ratchet vowing to rescue Clank from Nefarious and the Zoni.

In the end after the credits, there was a message showing 'The quest will continue on 2009' which will continue in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time.

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time (sorry it took so long...)

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, titled as Ratchet & Clank Future 3: A Crack in Time in Europe and Ratchet & Clank Future 3 in Japan, is the sequel to the game Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty and the final instalment of Future series. It was released in 2009 on October 27 in North America, and was released on November 4 in Europe (excluding the United Kingdom), November 5 in Australia and November 6 in the United Kingdom. The game concluded the story that started in Tools of Destruction and continued in Quest for Booty, therefore hinting it may be the last of the series; however, it is likely that it would just be finishing the Future sub-series.

Concluding the events that began in Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time answered some of the biggest questions raised in previous games. After discovering that Clank’s disappearance was engineered by Dr. Nefarious, Ratchet sets out to save him. Along the way both Ratchet and Clank uncovered the truth behind their origins and discovered what to do in the future. As the two come closer to be reunited they had to decide if their destinies still lie together. Why Clank was taken by the Zoni is another question that was answered in A Crack in Time.Captain Qwark had more screentime than in previous games to make up for his lack of appearance in Quest for Booty and Deadlocked.

The story focuses on Ratchet, still searching for Clank, whilst Clank himself comes to terms with his own origins in the Great Clock.

The game begins with Clank, who has been in suspension in the Great Clock for over a year, in custody of Dr. Nefarious and his butler, Lawrence. Nefarious suddenly dissolves his 'partnership' with the Zoni after being denied access to a part of Clank's brain which is the key to something called the Orvus Chamber. Dr. Nefarious proceeds to create chaos throughout the Great Clock with his Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler, which the Clock's equipment is vulnerable to. This event causes Clank to awaken and escape from Nefarious's clutches. After briefly escaping, Lawrence immobilises Clank with an Orb of Gratuitous Immobilisation. Nefarious and his troops then leave the Great Clock, which is now suffering heavy damage.

Meanwhile, Ratchet travels into the Breegus Nebula, with Qwark in tow. Talwyn has warned that the sector is 'crawling' with mercenaries. Aphelion is suddenly hit with a strange wave of energy and promptly crashes into the Zolar Forest on a jungle planet. The Fongoids who inhabit the planet give Ratchet a device called Zoni Vessel to capture lost Zoni after he saves some Fongoid children. Ratchet collects 3 Zoni on the planet, and the resulting energy created fixes Aphelion for him.

Ratchet, Qwark and the Fongoid Chief then come back to the village to witness a mass kidnapping of their race by someone known as Lord Vorselon. Ratchet follows Vorselon's ship and releases the Fongoids as well as Qwark who had been taken captive as well. Qwark then directs Ratchet to Torren IV to locate the mysterious Alister Azimuth that Lord Vorselon had falsely thought was Ratchet.

He finally meets Azimuth, who is in fact another Lombax, on Torren IV in the Molonoth Fields. Azimuth initially thinks Ratchet is an assassin in a holo-disguise and attempts to flee, but after a brief chase, Alister recognises Ratchet's face and compares it to his father, Kaden. Alister later explains how Kaden was one of the first Lombaxes to theorise the Great Clock's existence and teaches Ratchet how to use his father's hoverboots. Azimuth tells Ratchet to meet him in Axiom City on planet Terachnos in order to find a way to talk to Clank. The two of them infiltrate a Pollyx Industries building once on Terachnos and manage to locate an Obsidian Eye (which there are many of throughout the galaxy, built by the Zoni) on Lumos in the Korthos Sector that would allow the both of them to communicate with Clank, before they are forced to escape and destroy a large turret before leaving the planet.

Meanwhile, Clank is reactivated by the Junior Caretaker of the Clock, Sigmund. After following Sigmund through the Clock to a mnemonic chamber, Clank discovers his father, Orvus. The Zoni leader then leaves the Great Clock to Clank as a sort of inheritance after giving Clank a Chronoscepter to help with his caretaking duties. Clank continues through the Clock, destroying the Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler in the process and enters the Orientation Room with Sigmund. Inside, Clank learns that Orvus and the Zoni built the Great Clock to keep the balance of time in working order after a small rip in the time-space continuum, caused by improper use of time travel by the Fongoids, destroyed over 83 celestial entities. Clank is also warned by Orvus that the Clock should not be used as a time machine under any circumstances as it was built to keep time, not alter it. He is then informed of how to fix temporal distortions located on various planets and proceeds to do so. Shortly afterwards, Clank secretly watches Sigmund viewing a message from Orvus, who apparently travelled to Planet Zanifar to meet with another scientist and would not be back until morning. As Orvus is nowhere to be seen, Clank knows something bad has happened to his father.

Ratchet and Azimuth arrive on Lumos and begin to search for the Obsidian Eye. Part-way through their journey, Ratchet asks the General to stop and give him some straight answers about the Lombaxes, his father and why the General isn't with them. Azimuth angrily replies that Ratchet asks too many questions and that his father wouldn't be like this. Ratchet argues that he is not his father and asks Azimuth again. The General then finally answers Ratchet and says it's because he failed them.

Azimuth tells the tale of an 'inventor' who approached the Lombaxes with ideas for technology that was light years ahead of their own, shortly after the conclusion of the Great War. Kaden warned Azimuth not to trust the inventor, but Azimuth thought otherwise and allowed the inventor access to all of Lombax's technology and secrets. The inventor (who is revealed to actually be Tachyon) then used this to form his own army (proving Aphelion's claim of Tachyon using stolen Lombax technology in Tools of Destruction). The Lombaxes took refuge in the Court of Azimuth, but Kaden refused and went back to help Ratchet's mother from the soldiers. By the time he arrived, she had already been murdered. Azimuth says he is unsure of how long Kaden survived before being killed, and claims responsibility for his friend's death. Azimuth then tells Ratchet that both of them can fix it together, using the Great Clock. The General says he can undo what was already done by using the Clock's abilities and promises Ratchet that if he sticks with the General, he will get his family back.

Ratchet & Azimuth manages to find the Obsidian Eye after off an Agorean invasion and finally gets to talk to Clank. Clank is surprised that Ratchet has found him and asks about who Azimuth is. Ratchet is unable to explain fully as the signal starts to decrease in strength. Before the message cuts out, Clank pleads Ratchet to travel to Zanifar to help Orvus in the past. Before Ratchet can ask about who Orvus is, the signal breaks up. Clank asks Sigmund to synthesise a time portal on Zanifar for Ratchet and Alister to use, which Sigmund then does.

After rescuing Qwark from Agoreans (who had been paid by the Fongoids to take the superhero off their hands) and defeating a war grok whom Qwark calls Snowball, Ratchet uses the time portal on Zanifar to travel 2 years into the planet's past. He learns that Nefarious and Lawrence crashed their asteroid there and somehow tricked the Fongoids inhabiting the planet to build an outpost. He sneaks into the base and sees Nefarious with a captured Orvus, who still refuses to tell the Doctor how to get into the Orvus Chamber despite running out of strength to resist. Nefarious orders the Hypersonic Brainwave Scrambler to attack Orvus who suddenly disappears after saying that the one who will enter his chamber is safe from the Doctor. A residual image left behind is tracked back to Clank. Ratchet exclaims his confusion, alerting Nefarious to his position. The Lombax then tosses a bomb at Nefarious creating a large scar on his left eye befoe diving out of the window. When Ratchet returns to the present, this change to the past causes the scar to appear on the current Nefarious who then screams in anger. Before leaving Zanifar, Ratchet receives a message from Vorselon who has managed to capture Azimuth. Ratchet then takes off towards Vorselon's ship.

Ratchet arrives on Vorselon's ship and fights his way through the ship's forces eventually coming into confrontation with Vorselon. The Terraklon assassin claims he will tell Ratchet where Azimuth is if he is defeated. Ratchet does defeat him, but Vorselon retreats before he tells of Azimuth's location. Ratchet searches the ship some more and eventually finds Azimuth in a containment field. Azimuth orders Ratchet to leave and forget about him, but Ratchet refuses and lowers the containment field. After releasing the General, Azimuth is angry at Ratchet for not listening to him, until Ratchet mentions that he travelled back in time. Azimuth becomes hopeful and inquires as to how far Ratchet travelled. Ratchet replies "not far enough". Despite this, the pair manage to escape Vorselon's ship.

Back on the Great Clock, Clank takes another trip into his subconscious and meets the Plumber, who claims he took a wrong turn into Clank's memory banks, originally intending to head into Qwark's brain (which he though he was in because of all the emptiness he sees). The Plumber then says that Clank must accept his new responsibilities, even though the first steps are the hardest and if Ratchet is his friend, he will understand. The Plumber then says he "wouldn't risk any more than 6 minutes", before Clank abruptly awakes. Sigmund notes that he got some strange neural activity during Clank's brief trip, but dismisses it. Clank then travels to the Orvus Chamber with Sigmund and proceeds inside. The two of them view a message left from Orvus for Clank, but it cuts off before it finishes. Lawrence has cut the power and immobilises both Clank and Sigmund with another Orb of Gratuitous Immobilisation. He informs Nefarious that Clank had lead them directly into the Orvus Chamber. Nefarious orders Lawrence to initiate "Unecessarily Evil Initiative Omega 91" just as Qwark arrives at the base in a nurse outfit.

Ratchet receives message from Azimuth who's picked up a repeating distress call from planet Vapedia. Ratchet immediately recognises it as Clank's unique signature. After defeating one of the Valkyries, Ratchet heads towards Vapedia to help Clank but is unaware that the distress call has been faked by Nefarious. The leader of the Valkyries, Cassiopeia, is waiting for Ratchet and Azimuth. She explains that she's going to kill both of them as well as Clank. Ratchet and Azimuth split up, the General going after Cassiopeia and Ratchet heading into the citadel. After surviving various death traps, Ratchet confronts Cassiopeia who taunts him by saying Clank wants to leave him. Clank is revealed to be suspended in a container, unconscious. Cassiopeia fights with Ratchet and is ultimately defeated. Clank is sent tumbling downwards and Ratchet dives off the platform to grab him. He manages to do so and narrowly avoids sending both of them falling to their deaths. The two of them finally re-unite and headback to Aphelion. Before leaving, Clank explains that using the Clock improperly is too great a risk for the universe, despite Azimuth's solid reasoning that they must use it for the Lombaxes. After realising that some risks aren't worth taking, Ratchet agrees with Clank much to Azimuth's disappointment. The General then leaves as Ratchet and Clank leave together to stop Nefarious.

The duo travel to Nefarious's base and confront him to stop his plan to control the Clock. However, their plan to sneak aboard using Qwark's disguise as "Nurse Shannon" fails and the 3 of them are captured by Nefarious and his guards. Nefarious explains his plan to use the Clock so that he can undo his defeat at the hands of the duo and create a present where every villain wins. He then sends Ratchet and Clank flying to the distant planet of Morklon attached to an asteroid (which Nefarious created if he ever needed an "ironic death scenario"). The Zoni Ratchet has captured protect the two of them from the impact and they begin to search for a way back to Nefarious's station. After hearing about the battle of Gimlick Valley from a local, the pair manage to alter the past of the planet so that the inhabiting Fongoids give them an Agorean ship to get back to Nefarious. They eventually travel to the station and engage the Doctor in combat. After a long confrontation, ending on the top of one of Nefarious's ships, Nefarious suddenly overloads and collapses. Before the duo have a chance to escape, Lawrence takes the escape pod, leaving Ratchet and Clank on a collision course with the base. Ratchet is ready to say his goodbyes, but Alister appears in his ship and shouts for Ratchet to jump on. The duo do so as Nefarious's base explodes.

Ratchet, Clank and Alister arrive back on The Great Clock. Clank tells Ratchet that the Clock needs him as it is what he was built for and extends a hand for Ratchet to shake. Ratchet takes Clank's hand and hugs him close to him to say goodbye. Azimuth is confused as to why they haven't used the Clock to save the Lombaxes, to which Ratchet replies that the past should stay how it is. Ratchet walks Clank inside the facility despite Azimuth's angry shouting at Ratchet to stop. Azimuth finally snaps, outraged that Ratchet no longer wants what he does and is consumed by his desire to fix his error in the past. He fires a blast of energy from his wrench which hits Ratchet directly on his chest. The impact kills Ratchet, causing him to fall off the platform whilst Clank vainly tries to grab him. Azimuth then attacks Clank and starts to head towards the Orvus Chamber. Clank gives chase to the General and manages to seal the chamber before Azimuth can get inside.

Clank approaches the center of the Orvus chamber, where the switch for the flow of time stands. He begins to remember the words of Ratchet, Orvus and Sigmund before he suddenly remembers what the Plumber told him during his trip into his subconscious.

"I wouldn't risk any more than 6 minutes".

Clank realizes that the Plumber meant the Great Clock's ability to control the time flow. Breaking Orvus's one rule of the Great Clock, Clank reverses the flow of time for 6 minutes to just before Ratchet's death. When the shift backwards stops, time remains frozen and Clank sees Azimuth firing the blast at his friend. Clank pushes Ratchet out of the way of the energy blast just after time resumes itself, saving his friend's life.

Ratchet and Clank then give chase to Azimuth who tries to get into the chamber again. The General manages to get inside and initiates a massive time shift to save the Lombaxes. The Clock cannot take the strain and begins to break apart. Ratchet and Clank manage to defeat Azimuth in a fight and attempt to stop the shift. Azimuth screams at Ratchet to stop, but Ratchet argues the point of the Clock only meaning to keep time, not change it. Alister then realises the error of his ways and sacrifices himself to stop the shift and prevents the Clock destroying itself. Clank tells Ratchet that he should be proud of Azimuth as he picks up the General's pocketwatch.

Later, Ratchet has just helped the Zoni fix the Great Clock and tells Clank to take care of himself before leaving sadly. Clank begins to play Orvus's message again, but then stops it. He realizes that finding out about his own family means he cannot leave Ratchet until the Lombax finds his own. He promotes Sigmund to Senior Caretaker of the Clock and leaves the chamber as Orvus's message starts playing again. Clank jumps into Aphelion just as Ratchet is about to take off, much to the Lombax's delight. The duo take off into the stars as Orvus narrates over the scene:

"Like any father, my only wish is that my son does that which makes him feel whole. You are an intelligent and logical being Clank, but intelligence and logic would have been wasted gifts without honour and loyalty. I am proud to see you came into those on your own. So, should the Clock be too small for your plans, I pray the cosmos light the way towards a future you yourself design. And remember, the universe has wonderful sense of humour. The trick is learning how to take a joke!"

Meanwhile, Qwark and Snowball remain trapped on an asteroid, with Qwark calling out for help to no avail. Snowball acts excited, with Qwark understanding he's hungry for blood. Panicked, Qwark runs in circles around to avoid getting eaten by Snowball. The screen snaps to black, with Qwark yelling at Snowball to go "easy on the goods".
