America, I am disappoint. Empty
PostSubject: America, I am disappoint.    America, I am disappoint. I_icon_minitimeThu May 05, 2011 3:19 pm

Americans are praising the death of another human being in an almost cult-like fashion. It's clear North American culture is easily fixated and emotionally charged by revenge and a good scapegoat but what we should all be doing is taking a moment to have intelligent debate or discussion about the root of the problems, and where to go from here.

The death of Osama bin Laden truly means nothing within the context of international terrorism. Killing one man does not end the "war on terror" or Al Qaeda. His death simply serves as a release for a culture obsessed with retribution.

While 9/11 was tragic and the death of those 3000 people will be remembered forever, the unnecessary death of those people is no more or less important than the unnecessary death of those that have died from cancer, disease, car accidents and world wars.

Each year, over 600,000 Americans die of heart disease, and close to 30,000 a year die from car collisions; the majority of which could be prevented by very simple structural changes to the automobile. Meanwhile no one is fervently obsessing over those hundreds of thousands of deaths. 3000 people dead versus millions a year due to other causes, yet the American government allocates only a tiny fraction of their budget to research on illnesses, while the money spent on anti-terrorism operations is astronomical.

I don't think you understand; first off it isn't only Americans who are 'praising' the death of Osama, it's people around the world from Europe to the Americas. The death of Osama Bin Laden may be minor, but the effects are largely distributed: one, Al Qaeda don't have a significant leader to back them up any longer (or temporarily at a minimum) and two, the death of this horrific man has brought a relief and morale boost to most everyone. It also reveals some the question whether the Pakistanian Government actually aided Bin Laden in his hiding, seeing as how he hid in a steel mansion right next to one of their Military Camps.

This 'cult' like praising isn't just America, it is most everywhere seeing as how my family and friends OVERSEAS (Guatemala, Venezuela, Scotland, Canada, and Belgium) were the ones to be more than happy to email me and let everyone know of a terrible man brought to justice. Watching the news will also show this. Saying that it's the Americans 'praising the death of another human being in an almost cult-like fashion' is a very ignorant thought, seeing as how also The United States is also a conglomeration of people ALL OVER the world, filled with a diversified culture; which is different than the Americanization most people place the United States under, rightly so. Retribution is a human emotion that almost EVERYONE will experience.

Now, 9/11 was an extremely tragic event, with the unnecessary deaths of thousands. The difference of these deaths and to that of the others, isn't just to the physical point. It is a far greater subject than that. The World Trade Center was an iconic structure for the purpose of international trade to other countries, a national symbol and the heart of The Big Apple. The unfortunate destruction of it not only struck to the hearts of those whose families were killed, but also to everyone in the United States and people around the world. It was the death of around 3000 yet it felt as if the tragedy would've killed everyone. It wasn't just a blow to the people in the building, but a blow to the Nation striking grief to our hearts.

Concerning diseases, such as cancer and heart disease (which by the way is also the fault of the victim sometimes, considering they are the cost of food industries such as McDonalds), is also tragic in our country. BUT it is also remembered just as the World Trade Center is, such as Breast Cancer awareness month and the like. The cause of car accidents is international not just in this great country, and concerning the World Wars everyone is obsessed with the deaths of them. Programs all over the world express the sorrow of the Holocaust, and a national holiday (Decoration Day or Memorial Day) has been commemorated to the deaths of ALL soldiers, pinnacle after the World Wars. Memorials have been constructed in the Capital of the United States to HONOR them.

Not only that, we also try to aid our fellow countries and ourselves in disasters to help them prevent any more deaths, some examples? Japan in one of our most recent natural disasters, Haiti, Hurricane Katrina, etc. One of the points I do seem to agree on in your post is that we should distribute a larger sum of our money to medical services. I also think we should be concentrating heavily on our economic situation, but that is another subject.

PostSubject: IF ANYONE EVEN SEES THIS...YES IT IS A ''YAY LADEN IS DEAD'' TITLE....pff   America, I am disappoint. I_icon_minitimeThu May 05, 2011 7:31 pm

In all honesty, who the fuck cares? I think that he got what he deserved..

Now sure, I didnt praise his death, I wasnt happy about it nor did I even care that much. Yeah, 9/11 was tragic, but I cant ''feel'' too bad because I wasnt effected personally (I think its just human nature, but whatever). I dont mean to sound like a cold, heartless jerk when I say this (not like I care) and I am sorry for anyone who lost someone.....but look at it this way, we cant blame people for singing songs and dancing about his death (I thought it was hilarious..).

America really needs this good news...everyone is so depressed or frustrated, WE NEED A MORALE BOST!
We havt seen ANY true, honest to god good news in...fucking long time.....Let america breath..jesus.

Coming from a person who is on the brink of an anarchist, I love this country. I believe completely that praising his death is great, but thats my sense of humor, hell we could make a holiday to mock those bastards, it would boost me a bit...id get one hell of a laugh too.

Simply out, its human nature, death brings happiness to some people. Reveng...retribution, there all just words that people think are bad, though its in our very blood. Just lighten up and realize its how things are.

I personally...kinda like it, but in reality, I dont give two shits. Praise it or hate it, your only wasting your good time and words with ''intellectual conversation''. Intellectual conversation is what you make of it. People can party, sing songs and throw god damn parades...who cares, its just funny.

P.S. Yes I do expect you to get annoyed, duh..and I also dont care.

Leke is trying to be smart about cars.
Compare the automobile today to that of the automobile of say 10 years ago.
The tech. has seen leaps and bounds in the past 10 years, structural and otherwise.
Its not the cars that are killing people Matt, its the people driving them.

And what were the death tolls 10 years ago? Remember to scale for the number of people that own cars. The point of it was, billions were spent on "the war on terror", mainly so some people could have revenge (and some others oil). Millions could have been spent to save more lives than were lost in 9/11 and in the resulting wars.

Billions were not spent into finding this guy, your sourly mis-informed on that. Billions were spent on military research, fighting Al-Queda, finding Osama, war on Iraq and Afghan. I did agree we should be spending more money on medical advancements, but everything you've said before is pretty ignorant in my opinion.
